This proof-of-concept study tested a digital algorithm-guided insulin therapy system (GlucoTab@MobileCare) in nine elderly home healthcare patients with type 2 diabetes. The system showed high user acceptance (95% task adherence) and no severe hypoglycemia, with mean morning blood glucose decreasing from 171 to 145 mg/dL over three months. These findings suggest that digital decision support can enable safe and effective basal insulin management by non-specialist nurses in home care settings.
