This mixed-methods pilot study evaluated a partnership-supported Bachelor of Science in Paediatrics and Child Health training program for Clinical Officers (non-physician clinicians) in Malawi. Students reported improved clinical knowledge and skills, with 92% rating bloc courses "At my level" and 94% reporting a major effect on their perspective of Malawi's public health system. The findings suggest that adding supervised ward rounds, bloc courses, and research projects to existing training can foster transformative learning and develop "change agents" for child health in low-resource settings.
