This study analyzed Demographic and Health Survey data from Malawi (n=7478) and Tanzania (n=3514) to assess male involvement in family planning (FP) decisions. The prevalence of male involvement was 53.0% in Malawi but only 26.6% in Tanzania, with key determinants including older age, higher education, media access, and household wealth. These findings highlight the need for FP programs that address socio-demographic barriers to increase male participation and improve reproductive health outcomes in both countries.
