This cross-sectional study of 94 young athletes found that 52.1% of female athletes were at risk for low energy availability (LEA), and 68.6% of females and 42.9% of males were at risk for eating disorders. Higher body fat percentage was associated with lower risk for both eating disorders and LEA in female athletes. Both male and female athletes demonstrated poor sport nutrition knowledge, with no significant differences between sexes or school levels.
