This cross-sectional study compared nutritional status between Portuguese and Turkish community-dwelling older adults using the Mini-Nutritional Assessment (MNA). Turkish older adults had higher rates of malnutrition (4.9% vs 1.2%) and risk of malnutrition (31.5% vs 24.0%) compared to Portuguese older adults, despite Portuguese participants having a higher prevalence of chronic diseases. Being female, older age, tooth loss, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, anemia, oncological diseases, and lower BMI or calf circumference were associated with worse nutritional status across both populations.
