This community-based cross-sectional study in East Wollega Zone, Western Ethiopia found that only 39.6% of under-five caregivers had utilized co-packaged zinc and oral rehydration salts (ORS) for childhood diarrhea in the prior 12 months. Key predictors of utilization included smaller family size (less than 5), having heard about the co-pack, perceiving the child's health as poor or medium, perceiving the episode as moderately severe, and being a non-member of community-based health insurance. The findings highlight a low uptake of this WHO-recommended intervention and underscore the need for strengthened health education and information dissemination to improve utilization.
