The Emirates Heart Health Project (EHHP) is a stepped-wedge cluster-randomized trial testing a family-based, health-coach-guided diet and exercise intervention for overweight and obese UAE nationals. The intervention adapts the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) into a culturally sensitive, home-based program using wearable fitness trackers and weekly coaching sessions to reduce weight and cardiovascular risk factors. If effective, this family-centered approach could address persistent barriers to lifestyle change in the UAE, where CVD causes over 39% of deaths in those over age 45.
