This study characterizes a new Tunisian isolate of the nematophagous fungus *Lecanicillium* sp. (OM169327) as a biological control agent against the root-knot nematode *Meloidogyne javanica*. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the fungus directly penetrates and destroys nematode eggs, and culture filtrates achieved up to 54% egg-hatching inhibition and 91% juvenile mortality. Proteomic analysis identified 47 unique proteins, including hydrolytic enzymes like endochitinase and choline dehydrogenase, which likely mediate the ovicidal and nematicidal effects, supporting the fungus's potential as an eco-friendly bio-nematicide for vegetable crops.
