This review summarizes 270 secondary metabolites isolated from marine-sponge-associated microorganisms between 2012 and 2022 that exhibit antimicrobial activity. The majority (68.5%) came from fungi, with polyketides being the most common structural class (51.9%), and 55 compounds showed antifungal activity in addition to antibacterial effects. These findings highlight sponge-associated microorganisms as a promising source for developing new antimicrobial drugs to combat drug-resistant pathogens.
