This qualitative cross-cultural study explored causes of stress and poor wellbeing among paramedic students in Saudi Arabia (SA) and the United Kingdom (UK) through 20 semi-structured interviews. Four major themes were identified: exposure to potentially traumatic events, relationships and communication, programme atmosphere, and career concerns, with similar stressors reported across both cultures. The findings highlight the need for universities and training programmes to proactively support student wellbeing through better preparation, supportive mentorship, and open communication about mental health.
