This paper describes the fabrication of miniaturized tubular polycaprolactone (PCL) devices for sustained protein delivery, achieving wall thicknesses down to 30 μm and release of a model protein for over 400 days. Devices can be loaded with either solid or liquid formulations and are injectable via a 22-gauge needle. In a rabbit model, repeated intravitreal injection of placebo devices showed acceptable ocular safety without significant inflammation, supporting potential for ocular applications.
