This cross-sectional study of 650 primary school pupils in Yaounde, Cameroon found a 27% prevalence of overweight and 60.3% prevalence of tooth decay. Overweight pupils were 1.5 times more likely to have tooth decay than non-overweight pupils (95% CI: 1.1–2.4, p=0.011). The findings support the need for integrated oral and nutritional health promotion programs in Cameroonian primary schools.
