This study developed a 9-metabolite serum signature (Met score) that predicts progression-free survival in patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC). The metabolic signature independently predicted outcomes beyond traditional factors like TNM stage and EBV DNA levels, and a combined nomogram showed improved predictive accuracy (C-index 0.77 in training, 0.72 in validation). This metabolomics-based approach offers a novel, non-invasive tool for risk stratification and personalized treatment planning in LA-NPC.
