This narrative review summarizes evidence linking the gut bacterial enzyme β-glucuronidase (GUS), part of the 'estrobolome', to estrogen metabolism and breast cancer risk and treatment. It proposes GUS as a potential molecular target for prevention and therapy, particularly for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
