This pilot analysis from a randomized trial of 70 pregnant women with pregestational diabetes found that certain phenotypic factors, such as black skin color and high blood pressure early in pregnancy, were associated with an increased risk of developing hypertensive disorders, while diet and specific genetic variants were not.
