This narrative review describes the classification and physicochemical properties of various nanoparticles, including RNA-based nanostructures, for potential use in therapeutic drug and gene delivery. It concludes that while RNA nanotechnology shows promise, particularly for cancer targeting, significant challenges like delivery efficiency and endosomal escape must be overcome before clinical realization.
