This preclinical study isolated an anthraquinone-flavonoid complex from Rumex tianschanicus roots and tested its antiulcer activity in a rat model of indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers. The complex, when administered prophylactically or for a prolonged period, demonstrated antiulcer activity, with histological evidence of mucosal healing. The main limitation is that this is an animal study; its efficacy and safety in humans remain unknown.
