This cross-sectional study of 385 hospitalized Han Chinese middle-aged and elderly men with type 2 diabetes examined the relationship between obesity phenotypes (defined by BMI and waist circumference) and sarcopenia. Higher BMI was inversely associated with sarcopenia risk, while abdominal obesity (elevated waist circumference) was positively associated with sarcopenia.
