This longitudinal study analyzed 21 years of Indonesian Family Life Survey panel data (1993–2014) using satellite-derived geospatial measures of built-up land area to assess its association with adult BMI and overweight/obesity. Living in more built-up areas was associated with greater BMI and risk of being overweight or obese, though the estimated contribution was small but statistically significant.
