In a cross-sectional study of 44 women with PCOS and 50 non-PCOS controls, no significant differences were found in 24-h urinary magnesium content (P=0.22), fractional excretion of magnesium (P=0.24), or serum magnesium (P=0.17) between the groups, suggesting magnesium status was similar and neither group was magnesium deficient.
