This retrospective comparative study assessed early postoperative retinal image quality and stability after LASIK and PRK using double-pass aberrometry. It found that while both procedures caused temporary degradation in optical quality, PRK showed a more significant drop at one month, but both were similar at three months, with only PRK showing persistent increases in scattering and shortened vision break-up time. A key limitation is the retrospective design and the focus on objective metrics without correlating them to subjective patient symptoms.
