This cross-sectional study analyzed Demographic and Health Survey data from 49 countries to assess whether vitamin A supplementation coverage is equitable across subpopulations defined by nutritional, geographic, and socioeconomic determinants. The central finding was that children who likely have the greatest need for vitamin A supplementation—those without recent consumption of vitamin A-rich foods and those with poorer access to healthcare—are less likely to receive supplementation in most countries.
