In a prospective Japanese birth cohort of 76,207 mother-infant pairs, mothers in the lowest quintile of mid-pregnancy dietary fiber intake had significantly higher odds of their child showing developmental delay at age 3 years across four of five neurodevelopmental domains compared with the highest intake group.
