Using multi-trajectory modeling on 4,464 Chinese adults from 1997 to 2018, four distinct cereal-intake patterns were identified, with the group characterized by high white rice intake without other grains showing a higher subsequent risk of type 2 diabetes compared to the balanced cereal intake group. Consumption of other grains was associated with reduced type 2 diabetes risk.
