Laboratory experiments showed that Dendropsophus ebraccatus tadpoles increased defensive phenotypes in response to rising concentrations of predator cues, and when exposed to mixed cues from fish and dragonfly nymphs, developed an intermediate phenotype skewed toward the more lethal fish-induced response.
