This retrospective study of 28 eyes from 23 patients found that calcium carbide-related ocular burns, common in young males from agricultural or recreational causes, often result in severe visual morbidity, with eyes having more severe burns (Dua's Grade IV-VI) showing significantly worse visual outcomes and higher rates of complications like limbal stem cell deficiency.
