This case-control study of 67 women with ME/CFS and 48 healthy controls investigated autonomic dysfunction via hemodynamics, skin temperature rhythms, and endothelial biomarkers. It found that ME/CFS patients had higher circulating endothelin-1 (ET-1) levels, which correlated with worse self-reported autonomic symptoms, and a discriminant model using hemodynamic, circadian, and endothelial variables could classify participants with 91.5% accuracy. A key limitation is the cross-sectional design, which prevents establishing causation.
