This randomized, placebo-controlled cross-over study in eight healthy males found that acute ingestion of the green tea polyphenol EGCG (1450 mg) significantly reduced circulating adrenaline and noradrenaline levels during graded exercise to exhaustion, but also led to a lower peak rate of lipid oxidation.
