This qualitative study used community-based participatory research and a sharing circle with three women from a First Nation community on Vancouver Island to explore facilitators and barriers to Indigenous food sovereignty (IFS). The main finding is that Indigenous Knowledge, community support, and a relationship with the land and waters facilitate IFS, while environmental concerns like climate change and development create barriers. A key limitation is the small, non-representative sample of only three female participants, limiting generalizability.
